Yesterday, our P4 Mentor Program mentors and mentees took their commitment to professional and personal development to a whole new level by volunteering at Freedom Ride, a therapeutic accredited PATH facility.
As part of Digital Risk’s P4 (Preparing Protégés through Professional Partnerships) Mentor Program, mentors and mentees participate in one volunteering activity to solidify their professional and personal bonds, while sharing in the valuable experience of giving back to the community.
During the event, D-Riskers traded in their business suits for comfy t-shirts and jeans as they painted various parts of the facility, performed light landscaping, gave some tender loving care to the Freedom Ride horses, and unintentionally covered themselves in white paint. Considering this volunteer activity took place in the dizzying Central Florida summer heat, it was probably a good idea to forgo suit jackets and ties.
By the end of the activity, the beautiful white picket fences at Freedom Ride looked pristine, while our hard-working, charitable team of P4 mentors and mentees were showing signs of wear after a long day’s work. Either way, these D-Riskers literally lived up to our seventh guiding principle, “We Make the Journey Fun!”
As the only premier accredited PATH facility in the Central Florida area, Freedom Ride provides therapeutic riding to adults and children four years and older with spina bifida, developmental disabilities, autism, down’s syndrome, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, brain injury, speech-language disorders, among others.
