August was a busy month for D-Riskers across the country! As students return to school, D-Riskers sprung into action, hosting school supply donation contests and collection drives. The results: 2,700 donated items from Orlando teams, 14 backpacks full of donated items from Boca teams, and $240 worth of donated items from the Denver team.
Orlando Loan Review Analyst Kumar Jadoo organized a Back To School Drive Contest in which teams competed to donate the most school supply items to A Gift For Teaching, an organization that provides free school supplies to Orlando area teachers for their students in need. Twelve teams from Loan Fulfillment, Forensic Loan Review, Legal, Loan Origination and Digital Risk Valuation Services contended for the win. As a result, 181 color pencils, 949 crayons, 175 glue sticks, 306 packs of paper, 628 markers and 524 miscellaneous items were collected. That said, a big congratulations goes to Team Captain Ryan Matthews, Performance Supervisor, and his Lake Mary team for winning the contest and a free pizza party!
“I am very grateful to see this company come together to support a cause of helping the local students and teachers here in Orlando,” Kumar said.
The Boca Raton Charity Committee hosted a Backpack Bash, a contest in which Boca teams contended to fill the most backpacks with school supply donations. All donated backpacks and school supplies were delivered to HomeSafe, a non-profit organization that aims to protect Palm Beach County and South Florida area victims of child abuse and domestic violence. As a result, the Boca office donated 14 full backpacks to the organization. Another big congratulations goes to Team Captain Wilmer Montilva, Processing Manager, and his Boca team for winning the contest and a free pizza party!
“I am very thankful for all of the participation and support of this initiative,” said Christine Carcel, Boca Charity Committee team member and Underwriter. “We had great results, and I am so glad that I get to work with great people.”
The Denver office held a Jeans For a Cause event, raising funds to purchase backpacks and school supply items to be donated to Arapahoe House, an organization that provides alcohol and drug treatment programs in Colorado and mental health services to vulnerable individuals and families. Due to the generous donations of Denver D-Riskers, the team was able to donate $240 worth of four fully stocked backpacks to the Arapahoe House.
There you have it: Among three corporate offices and more than 16 teams of D-Riskers, Digital Risk was able to donate thousands of school supply items to three deserving organizations. No wonder our people are our most valuable asset!
