I started my career at Digital Risk just over one year ago, and what a year it has been! Although it seems like just yesterday, so much has happened that it also seems forever ago. Check out this timeline: First time at a Digital Risk office: Spent a few minutes looking for a parking […]
It was the fall of 2008 and I had just been laid off from my third company in four months. I had officially had more positions in the last six months then I did my entire career up to that point. It was the middle of the Great Recession, and I was one among many Americans who were suffering the effects. It was exactly one day after my most recent company closure that I received a call back from Digital Risk – for a position I had applied for six months earlier. They wanted me to start the next day. I obliged. I wasn’t sure what the future of the company would be, but I imagined it would be good. I just didn’t imagine how good…
Have you ever been inspired by someone at an unexpected moment? Digital Risk Boca Underwriter Christine Carcel constantly offers D-Riskers these moments. Christine lives and breathes her passion, charity, and has inspired team members to share her passion since she was hired in February 2013!
Originally from New York, Christine came from an animal-loving, military family that was constantly involved with charities. The family always had at least three pets and participated in multiple charities, especially supporting veterans through the Marine Corps League as her father was a former Marine. In fact, Christine fundraised for her first charity supporting Muscular Dystrophy research at just 9 years old.
Have you ever had one of those defining moments – a moment where your life experiences culminate in one decision that will direct your future? D-Risker Lisa Lee had one of those moments, and it is because of her decision then and her daily decisions today that we are excited to help you get to know her!
Growing up as the oldest of five, Lisa had many family responsibilities and held a leadership role among the sibling ranks. A self-proclaimed “airline brat”, Lisa’s family relocated from Boston to Ohio and on to Oklahoma. As a result, Lisa became very shy since building roots in one area was a challenge. Luckily, pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Communications at the University of Cincinnati took care of that.
At Digital Risk, our people are our most valuable asset, so we would like the opportunity to share their stories with you and highlight their successes. This month, we want to introduce you to Performance Supervisor Michele Merritt from the DRVS-AMC Operations Team. Michele was featured in the September Issue of the DRVS Newsletter. Check out her story below.
As the Performance Supervisor, Michele oversees the entire appraisal process beginning the moment the order is received from the client. Michele has extensive knowledge of the process and has worked in the AMC industry for over seven years.
Remember being in high school? What is one thing you couldn’t wait for? That’s right, graduation! Some teenagers have their whole future planned out, including college or working for the family business. But others have no clue; their plan is to wing it and hope for the best. I was the latter teenager.
I grew up in a very small town in Vermont that had few career opportunities. College wasn’t for me, I didn’t want to work for the family business, and I honestly didn’t have a life plan. I had a great work ethic, which I inherited from my Dad, so I was confident that I would make money. Yet after working several jobs around my hometown, I realized I needed to make a drastic change – as in move to Florida!
